Wordpress 2.5 Released
A new version of Wordpress i.e. 2.5 has been released.
I have upgraded to it and I am impressed with its new interface and features. The new admin interface is very cool and you will have to see to believe it.
If you are running an older version of Wordpress, I would recommend you to upgrade to 2.5. Version 2.5 also has many new security related and other bug fixes and so it is worth the upgrade.
Here are the new features in version 2.5:
- Cleaner, faster, less cluttered dashboard
- Dashboard Widgets
- Multi-file upload with progress bar
- Search posts and pages
- Password strength meter
- Few-click plugin upgrades
- Friendlier visual post editor
- And many more…
Here is how you proceed to upgrade your installation:
NOTE: Before you upgrade anything, make sure you have backup copies of any files you may have modified such as index.php.
- Delete your old WP files, saving ones you’ve modified.
- Upload the new files.
- Point your browser to /wp-admin/upgrade.php.
After you upgrade check if the plugins and themes are working properly. Sometimes, some of the themes/plugins may get broken and stop working. Try changing the theme or search for better plugins if that is the case.
I have no problems after the upgrade and everything seems to work perfectly well.
