Generating Blog Content

You may be aware that when it comes to search engine optimization, content is the king! I tend to disagree slightly, as I believe that UNIQUE content is the king. People come online to get more information and if your site/blog can provide them the required information, search engines will rank your site/blog at the top and you will get more visitors. More visitors mean more conversions, which ultimately means a steady stream of residual income.

Developing content is difficult and boring. You need a thorough understanding of the topic and at the same time you also need patience if you want your posts to be informative and streamlined. However, you can develop content easily if you tackle the writing process in steps. Here are some ideas for developing content in a short period of time:

goldfish Provide Information: People search for information all the time. And so if you write informative posts, your blog will become popular. In order to know what people are searching for, you will have to take the help of a keyword research tool like WordTracker or KeywordDiscovery and develop your content accordingly. Just for example, if you are running a computer related blog you can write a post on "mass storage devices". In the post you can provide information on what are mass storage devices, their history, notable inventions, technological progress, future developments, etc.

goldfish Product Reviews: Before buying products, people often search for user reviews. You can do product reviews and provide links with your affiliate ID embedded into them. When users read your reviews and buy from your affiliate links, you will get a commission. This works the best for digital products like ebooks, web hosting, etc.

goldfish Product Comparisons: You take two products and compare the merits and demerits of each of them. For example, you compare the hosting provided by two companies using parameters like up-time, money back guarantee, software provided, cost, customer support, etc.

goldfish Rants: When somebody is ranting out, people like it! This is inherent human tendency! Rant on something that you don’t like and you will get visitors. It is common to see sites bashing MicroSoft getting Slashdotted regularly. Getting listed on SlashDot will get you thousand of visitors in a very short period of time.

goldfish Lists: Create a list of things that users will find useful. For example, create a list of Internet marketing blogs or a list of free web directories.

goldfish Links to other blog posts/News articles: Provide links to other blog posts or news articles and express your opinion on them. However, copy content minimally and rewrite as much as possible. This is to avoid both the copyrights problem and also duplicate content penalty.
